Community Projects Need Community Support: Pump Track Progress!
Construction continues on the Gwinn community pump track in Forsyth Township, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and it has been so heartwarming to see the time, effort, and community spirit our local volunteers are putting into making this outdoor recreation project a reality! This project is an exciting step toward creating more opportunities for youth, families, and outdoor recreation enthusiasts in our community.
Our recreation committee volunteers have been hard at work building fencing and helping move this project forward. We have also been grateful to have community partners like the Honor Credit Union team come out to stain fencing and lend a helping hand. Every volunteer, every hour, and every fencepost brings us one step closer to creating something special for Forsyth Township.
Projects like this are about more than building a pump track. They are about bringing people together, creating new opportunities for our youth, and investing in outdoor recreation right here in our community. Seeing people show up, roll up their sleeves, and work toward a shared goal is a great reminder of what makes a community strong.
The Importance of Volunteerism
At Forsyth Forward, volunteerism is at the heart of everything we do. Our organization has no paid employees, and our projects are made possible through the dedication of our volunteer board, committees, and community members. The time and effort these individuals put in outside of their everyday responsibilities speaks volumes about their commitment to moving our community forward. We are eternally grateful to everyone who has dedicated their time, energy, and effort to support Forsyth Forward.
Like many community organizations, we have struggled at times to find enough volunteers to help bring all our ideas and projects to life. There is so much potential in Forsyth Township, but turning those ideas into action takes people who are willing to step up and get involved.
Whether you have an hour to spare, a skill to share, or simply a willingness to lend a hand. We would love to have you involved! From outdoor recreation projects like the pump track to other community focused initiatives. There are plenty of ways to make a difference. You don't have to be an expert or make a huge time commitment to have an impact. Sometimes, the smallest contributions make the biggest difference.
We know there is still work ahead, but we are excited to see things taking shape and look forward to sharing more updates regarding the pump track as construction continues. And the pump track is only part of the story! There is more in store for this space, and we can't wait to share what's next.
A huge THANK YOU to all of our volunteers, community partners, and everyone who has supported this project so far. We are truly grateful to see our community coming together to build something that will benefit local families for years to come.
One fencepost at a time, we are building something great together!
