Forsyth Forward along with our partners, Treado Engineering, Marquette County, Michigan DNR, Forsyth Township and the Forsyth Snowmobile and ATV Club are in the planning and engineering stages of developing a multi-use non-motorized trail system that links the communities of Gwinn, Little Lake and Sawyer.
In 2026, Forsyth Forward received a $100,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to develop Phase 1 of the trail project, connecting Little Lake to Gwinn Michigan. Phase 1 consists of all preliminary work associated with creating the route plan and easements. It also allows for the initial construction of at least 1 mile of completed aggregate trail, beginning from Little Lake to Gwinn.
